Ecommerce Development
Magento 1 & OpenMage Development
Deep PHP expertise inside Magento's EAV architecture - custom modules, performance engineering, and complex migrations. Not off-the-shelf extensions, but actual solutions built for your store's specific requirements.
Background
I've been working inside Magento 1 codebases since 2017 - first as a working student at a German Software Development Agency in Rosenheim, then as Head of E-Commerce & Software Development leading the entire ecommerce development team. Since January 2026 I work independently through CoreCommerce Technologies, serving B2B clients across the DACH region.
Most developers avoid Magento 1 today. I've chosen to specialize in it precisely because the demand for genuinely skilled M1/OpenMage engineers is high and the supply is low. If your store runs on Magento 1 or OpenMage LTS and you need someone who understands the platform at the EAV level - not just how to install extensions - that's exactly where I operate.
What I Deliver
Custom Module Development
B2B pricing rules, discount logic, workflow automation, ERP integrations - built clean, following Magento coding standards.
Theme & Frontend Work
Custom themes, responsive layouts, checkout flow adjustments, and frontend performance improvements.
OpenMage LTS Migrations
Planned, staged migrations from legacy Magento 1.x to OpenMage LTS via Composer - including extension audits and compatibility testing.
Performance Optimization
Full-page cache tuning, database query analysis, PHP-FPM configuration, Varnish integration, and load-time profiling.
Multi-Store Setups
Multi-website, multi-store, multi-language configurations with correct hreflang structures and store-specific URL routing.
API & System Integrations
REST and SOAP integrations with ERP systems, PIM tools, payment gateways, and logistics providers.
Why OpenMage LTS Is a Valid Long-Term Choice
Magento 1 reached official end-of-life in 2020, but the OpenMage LTS community fork has kept the platform alive with regular security patches, PHP 8.x compatibility work, and active maintenance. Thousands of stores continue to generate millions in revenue on this platform.
For many merchants, a well-maintained OpenMage store is more cost-effective than a Magento 2 migration - which typically costs €50k–€200k+ and often delivers a worse result. I'm upfront about when migration actually makes sense and when it doesn't.
